Noosa
and District Landcare have demonstrated
experience in a wide range of Environmental
Services throughout the Burnett, Mary
and Noosa River Catchments have been
established since 1991. The Group
works closely on projects with the
Burnett Mary Regional Group, Mary
River Catchment Co-ordination Association,
SEQ Catchments Ltd, Noosa Parks Association
and Noosa Integrated Catchment Association,
Sunshine Coast Regional Council, CSIRO,
Alan Fletcher Research Station, but
the largest area of Group turnover
is from commercial or ‘fee for
service’ activities.
The positive shift
in public attitude toward the natural
environment has seen an increase in
demand for assistance with property
management and on ground services.
Thus, landholders, industry and businesses
are making environmental investments
by seeking the expertise of Noosa
Landcare to deliver outcomes.
Noosa Landcare follow
Best Practice guidelines and use Sustainable
and Ethical Land Management practices.
Vegetation species are selected for
each site based on water efficiency,
desired outcomes of habitat value
and productivity.
As part of our community
focus, Noosa Landcare also deliver
a range of extension services to community
and NRM sectors, as well as working
with schools to formulate educational
packages (classroom or field based)
for students.
